Philips Virtual Pinball

The Philips Virtual Pinball Controller was introduced in 1997, in the heydays of Pinball games. It is a full size replica of the front of a pinball machine. It has two micro switched flipper buttons on the side and on the front a plunger. What makes it interesting however is that de Virtual Pinball also has a three sensors for tilt support.

With the Virtual Pinball itself came also the game ‘Absolute Pinball’. The game was optimized for the controller. Every other PC Pinball game was also playable with the controller. However it was not possible to program the different buttons of the controller so compatibility varied.

The Pinball controller was connected to a PC via a PS/2 port. So modern computers with USB do not work, except if you buy a (an expensive version of the) PS/2 to USB-converter.
