Description
The CD-i 660 is a professional CD-player. It is one of the last and technical, most advanced CD-i players. It has a built-in DVC. Furthermore, the system’s operating shell can be adapted to the individual needs of the customer/company to enable:
– rejecting certain discs;
– disable playback of CD-audio;
– display a customized message on the screen.
The 660 is very light and also almost makes no sound when playing CD-i discs. It has 2mb internal RAM and 32 kb NV-RAM.
An interesting detail is that in the manual of the 660 an additional Philips Touch Screen is marketed (22ER916x) which could be used with the CD-i system. This Touch Screen is, as far as I know, never released, however.
The CD-i 660 as a professional CD-i system was only surpassed by the CD-i 670. The 670 looks and works the same as the 660, but has the possibility to be connected to a DVD-player.
